While I am concerned about the state of the planet, especially with three-and soon-to-be-four-grandchilden , rather than focusing on what is not working I do my best to stay focused on what I can do to help make things better. I continue to expand ways I can be a more responsible local and global citizen and live each day as consciously as I can.
Fortunately there is a growing number of women committed to BEING GREEN and broadening our knowledge about simple ways we can make friends once again with Mother Earth. Soon Circle Connections will be launching its BEING GREEN series to guide you in expanding your eco-awareness in the good company of like minded women. Until then, consider the following three things.
1. Find your motivation through inspired and compassionate communication rather than fear. Inspired action comes from spending time in nature communing with beauty and appreciating the wonders that surround us, realizing we can and must make a difference. Realize our environment is at risk and move forward even if in small ways, remaining focused on possibilities.
Whether you dwell in a city bursting at the seams or the find yourself in a small country community, discover a spot that nurtures and fills your spirit. Visit it often and and honor it consciously by protecting and safe-guarding in some way this special corner of the world that feeds your soul. Attune your eyes to see and appreciate all that we have and dare to preserve it.
2. Educate and update yourself about BEING GREEN. Share simple revelations, information and ideas with others. Spread the word that Circle Connections will soon offer a series of tele-gatherings and events that offer current information and authentic connection with those longing to have a safe, playful and meaningful place to expand your awareness about BEING GREEN.
3. Don’t just talk about it, but dare to take inspired action. Whether implementing small steps or giant leaps of faith, change “I’ve been meaning to do that,” into “I’m actively involved in the solution.” Have you unplugged all your appliances not in use? Have you started using cloth bags when shopping? Do you power-down your computer at the end of the day to conserve energy? Have you fixed the leaky faucet? Do you use green cleaning products? Choose one small way to conserve energy or recycle this week, knowing that each small step makes a big difference.
With all he ways we are aware of that our Earth need renewal, it can feel overwhelming sometimes, but there is value in starting somewhere and far more fun in doing it together. It can be as simple as shutting off lights, eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat, car pooling or taking public transportation, riding your bike to work, or sharing BEING GREEN information information within your community.
Join us at Circle Connections and consider participating in our BEING GREEN offerings as one simple way of caring for our planet, one another, our present, and our future. You matter and it all makes a difference.
