We are in the midst of the largest movement ever in the history of humans that is made up of small groups/circles with no one leader but leader-full. This movement can not be stopped. This movement is growing, is true democracy, and with each new circle is bringing about the Millionth Circle, the tipping point of change so drastically needed at this time. Too often we feel powerless against multi-national corporations and governments that put profit and politics of self-interest first instead of the greater good for all which includes the natural environment. Too often we find ourselves in hierarchical structures that stifle creativity and individual and small group participation. Transforming these structures can seem impossible but each effort made to bring change disturbs the system. With enough disturbances the walls of patriarchy come tumbling down.
We formed the Millionth Circle, www.millionthcircle.org, twelve years ago with the intention to:
Seed and nurture circles, wherever possible, in order to cultivate equality, sustainable livelihoods, preservation of the earth and peace for all.
Bring the circle process into United Nations accredited non-governmental organizations and the 5th UN World Conference on Women.
Connect circles so they may know themselves as a part of a larger movement to shift consciousness in the world.
Ashley Young filmed the launch of Moving Toward the Millionth Circle, the book by Jean Shinoda Bolen. We handed out 2,000 free copies last year at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Here is her newly released film, a wonderful resource to use when you gather the women in circle, show and discuss the film. Namaste!!! Ann
