This network of arms becomes a kind of Indra’s net*, and at each clasping of hands, - each knot in the net - there is a drop of water, a liquid crystal refracting all the colors, - a fluid image of a face reflecting light out to all the other faces”

(* Jean Houston tells us that Indra’s net is from a 2nd Century Buddhist sutra. At each nodal point in the network of Indra is a pearl or jewel that is a hologram, a totality. To look into one is to look into reality itself. And Tsultrim tells us about the Dakini’s Net described in the Chakrasamvara Tantra, one of the most ancient Buddhist Tantras, that describes a similar formation created by the Dakini Mandalas linking with each other. The Dakini is the embodiment of the undomesticated sky dancing wisdom feminine. In Tibetan it’s Khandro, “Sky Goer.” She can appear in fierce, peaceful or blissful aspects, taming hatred, ignorance and attachment accordingly. She is also the movement of bindu (awake energy) in the nadis of our subtle bodies. The Chakrasamvara Tantra says that once a Dakini mandala has been invoked in a place, it always remains there.)
