Celebrating the 74th Birthday of The Dalai Lama
“My religion is kindness.”
–The Dalai Lama
“Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. Peace, for example, starts within each of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us.”
–The Dalai Lama
“World peace must develop from from inner peace.
Peace is not the absence of violence.
Peace is the manifestation of compassion.”
- The Dalai Lama

A daily prayer of the Dalai Lama, from the great sage Shantideva:
“May I become at all times, both now and forever
A protector for those without protection
A guide for those who have lost their way
A ship for those with oceans to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge for those who lack shelter
And a servant to all in need.”
