John Ankele and Anne Macksoud, from Old Dog Documentaries are two “old dogs” who are worried about the state of our world and saddened by the suffering we see all around us. They join us to share about their documentary, Grandmother to Grandmother. This film introduces two outstanding projects – one in the Bronx, one in Tanzania. The founders of these projects are finding simple and effective ways to support grandmothers who are raising grandchildren. Children who were “at risk” are now thriving. Michealene Cristini Risley is an American-born Caucasian woman who was also a victim of abuse and is an amazing film maker with an extensive background in film production and development. After their serendipitous meeting, Michealene agreed to join Betty in Zimbabwe to get Betty’s story on film and out to the world. Together they join us to share about their documentary, Tapestries of Hope.

Ginny is a Mohawk leader and Episcopal priest, Canon to the Ordinary and Chief of Staff for the Alaska Episcopal Diocese. She will speak from her experience as a Mohawk, a matriarchal tribe and the legacy of the Iroquois Confederacy that became a model for the US government, and her life work in creating structures of shared leadership, where high level officials and grassroots people come together as peers.
